Cottages for campers

These little cottages used to be glorious!  They are becoming a bit rundown now but are still cute.  I wonder how big they are inside.  I bet they were so frugal to rent out.  It looks looks like no electric or anything runs in or out of them.  My guess is they were just for beds.

Tiny cottage with a tiny cottage birdhouse

This little cottage is not far from Catskill, NY on the back rounds.  Found it on a biking trip and to my surprise the little tiny cottage birdhouse was on the front lawn too.  I'm still collecting small and tiny house photos and will share them all here in case anyone needs inspiration.

Catch your own fishing bait minnows, make your own trap

Minnows.  I forgot the fun in catching them when I was a child.  We didn't have the one like this picture, but it worked just as well.  We used a large empty, rinsed out soda bottle, tied to a string to the end where you screw the cap on, threw some dough balls in it, and placed it an area where minnows were.  We usually secured the other end to a tree branch or even rock on the bank.  Later we would come back and find some minnows in our trap.  It was great fun and we were experts at what kind of bottles worked best and where to place them.

Abandoned Tiny Cottage

I love imagining this tiny house lived in and fixed up.  What a great idea to have a small shed attachment on the one side of it.

Shed

My neighbor threw this shed up in a day or two without giving it all that much time.  I asked him if he could build me a tiny house.  He laughed.  I really wasn't kidding.

Why aren't the windmills running?

These two are located in Greenville, NY and haven't been running for quite a while now.  Rumors that they made too much money and that the owners are being paid to have them shut off, is what is being said about them.  Two towns over, another windmill has joined their fate.  I am aiming smaller and off the grid so maybe I won't be pushed into a non-green solution.  I keep thinking that these two mills could supply a lot of the town with free electric.... but I'm a dreamer.  I am very happy to see windmills up again.  In my younger days, most farms had windmills on them to pump their water.  Almost every child in America played with a windmill on some toy farm modeled after this.

Old milk house

This old milk house is used as storage now.  The big barn next to it fell down last year.  I would love a tiny house just like this one.  Maybe if my neighbor could ever sell it I'll be the lucky owner to convert it into a nice habitable little house.
